After all, the Wheel of Fortune co-host, 65, is the picture-perfect fashionista, rarely spotted out of her signature heels (though she has admitted to only donning them once it’s time to film) and working out of a wardrobe containing over 7,800 options, which she only repeated for the first time two years ago, just shy of 40 years into her tenure. But with so many dresses and jumpsuits making the rounds, it’s not surprising to learn that not every one has hit the mark for her. “I don’t love every outfit I wear, because I feel like there’s so many millions of people that are watching and have different tastes and I’m trying to please everybody,” White recently told People. She tries to be versatile, knowing that just because something isn’t her preference doesn’t mean a viewer won’t fall in love with it, but there are certainly looks she could have done without. The most important thing about her wardrobe for her is comfort, so her least-favorite options usually include skin-tight designs. Unfortunately, even for her very favorites, she has to say goodbye at the end of the episode. “They have to go back to the designer,” she said back in 2016. “But I certainly enjoy wearing them.” White has dress fittings every couple of weeks, where she and stylist Kathi Nishimoto go through 50 to 60 loaner samples that come in from a variety of designers. The two then narrow down their favorites to about 12. “The biggest challenge was to just get her to [be vocal about dresses she doesn’t like]," Nishimoto once told People. “Because she is so nice, she doesn’t want to say no to anybody.”
