Today’s Wordle Answer #241: Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022
If you need a hint for today’s Wordle answer, sniff around until you find one. Today we went with “REINS” for our Wordle starting word, simply because it’s a group of common letters that we hadn’t yet tried in this combination. Two vowels in E and I, plus R, S and N mean that you’re likely to come up with at least something, right? In this case, it was just a whiff of something: R, and in the wrong place. Having not yet had our caffeine for the day, we tried “WRATH” next, inspired by what would befall anyone who spoke to us before our morning tea. W is an often underrated letter, and in combination with A, T and H, was likely to garner at least one more letter—and “at least” was right, because that’s all we got. Knowing our Wordle solution had A and R, neither in the right place, we tried another broad stroke. As in, the word “BROAD”: Adding a vowel in O, using the R we know to be present, and adding B and D. It turned out relatively well. We knew R and O were in their proper placements, and we knew the Wordle answer had to either start or end with A—or both. Knowing there aren’t too many other words you can create with those letters—and being fans of scented candles and herbs—“AROMA” came in a cinch. A fellow player who got the Wordle answer in three tries told us their starting word is always “JUICE,” for the three vowels included, and their second word for this puzzle was “MOANS.” That may be our Wordle starting word tomorrow morning, because look how well that worked out! Next, try out these Wordle tips and tricks (including recommended Wordle starting words) to get a leg up on tomorrow’s puzzle!
