So let’s get to it, diehard MAFS fans: Here’s everything we know about Season 14 of Married at First Sight so far!

When does Married at First Sight Season 14 premiere?

Season 14 kicks off with a bang: A three-hour debut episode on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime. Subsequent, two-hour episodes will air weekly after that. But first, you’ll want to catch the season’s two planned previews: The Season 14 Matchmaking Special premieres Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, “providing an in-depth exploration of the matchmaking process as many hopeful singles put their hearts on the line in order to find love,” according to a statement. The next night (Thursday, Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT), catch the Kickoff Special with host Kevin Frazier for “an exclusive first look at the epic upcoming season. The all-access, behind-the-scenes special takes a closer look at each of the five couples about to be married with never-before-seen moments from the selection process and previously unreleased secrets from the Married at First Sight experts.”

Who are the Married at First Sight Season 14 couples?

MAFS fans know that there are a few things you can always expect. As Women’s Health Mag reports, participants must be at least 25 years old, live in the city where the current season is filming and apparently agree to be “up for every aspect of the social experiment.” The following list of couples, which Lifetime has confirmed in a press release, apparently check all those boxes:

Alyssa & Chris

Alyssa, 30, is a devoted animal rescuer, which leaves little time for dating. She was heartbroken when her last relationship ended, but since then, she’s come to realize how unhappy she’d been. Alyssa believes Married At First Sight offers her a real chance at true love and she’s hopeful that the show’s experts will find her the man she’s wanted all along. Chris, 35, has been a serial monogamist since his high school days—but he’s finally realized that his pattern is to pick girlfriends with whom he’s incompatible once the “honeymoon phase” of their relationship is over. He hopes the matchmakers will find him a woman who will have him in love and enthralled for the long haul.

Jasmina & Michael

Jasmina, 29, has been around many failed, unfaithful relationships in her family—and has patterned many of her past relationships after similarly unhealthy behaviors. But now, she believes she’s done the work to move on from her traumas and can truly settle down with someone chose for her by the experts. Michael, 28, hasn’t had much success with dating apps. His sister helped convince him that Married At First Sight just might lead him to what he truly wants: A wife and a family. Michael can’t wait to see the perfect match that’s been chosen for him.

Katina & Olajuwon

Katina, 29, has been growing spiritually while focusing on herself the past couple years. While she’s long wanted to be a wife and mother, she’s struggled to find the right partner who she can grow old with. Katina is hopeful that the Married At First Sight process will work for her. Olajuwon, 29, admits he’s a reformed ”playboy" who now hopes for a partner he can share a life and a family with. Olajuwon went to college with Jephte Pierre from Season 6 of Married At First Sight who only had great things to tell his old friend about the experience.

Lindsey & Mark

Lindsey, 34, has learned from her past relationships and now knows what she wants and what she can bring to the table. She knows that the experts will find her a true partner for life—just like her grandparents, who have been married for 70-plus years. Mark, 37, has wanted to be married his entire life; meeting women who aren’t ready for that level of commitment has proven frustrating for him. He even applied to be on Married at First Sight the last time the experts were in Boston and he feels destined to be on the show!

Noi & Steve

Noi, 33, has gotten into trouble in the past for how she falls in love freely and easily. She decided to go on the Married At First Sight because she’s tired of being let down. She know the experts will have her best interests at heart. Steve, 38, has been privileged throughout his life to be around incredible examples of happy, healthy marriages. And after recently learning that his grandparents—who have been married for 60 years—had an arranged marriage, he’s not scared to marry his wife at first sight. He’s hopeful that the experts will find him a match who will make him as happy as his grandparents.

Are there any Married at First Sight spoilers?

Married at First Sight Season 14 spoilers are few and far between at the moment. However, the fact that the new season will take place in Boston is a spoiler of sorts. Be prepared for some thick accents and a fair bit of Red Sox talk. (Just a guess.)

How many Married at First Sight episodes will there be in Season 14?

If Married at First Sight Season 14 follows a similar formula to the past few seasons, then fans should expect as many as 17 episodes. A new season of MAFS usually debuts with a three-hour special (as happened in Seasons 12 and 13). After that, the show is filmed over an eight-week “experimental” period which culminates with Decision Day. That’s the day each couple has to choose: Do they want to stay married? Or get a divorce?

What happened in Married at First Sight Season 13 and which couples are still together?

Since Married at First Sight Season 13 is still technically mid-season, there is no official word yet on who has remained together and who has opted for divorce. However, there’s a lot of Season 12 drama that’s been unfolding recently—much to fans’ surprise. The fact that things remain dramatic to this day shouldn’t be all that shocking, however. After all, MAFS Season 12 was the most-watched season in franchise history on a single network with total viewers. Fans watched as Houston couples Ryan and Clara, Briana and Vincent, and Virginia and Erik chose to stay married on Decision Day. (In case you need a refresher: Haley and Jacob and then very dramatically, Paige and Chris, ultimately chose to divorce.) But, as of this writing, Ryan and Clara and Virginia and Erik are no more. Yep—shocking as it is, both of these couples have split. Not much is known about why Ryan and Clara called it quits—other than the fact that their 2022 New Year’s Eve vow renewal ceremony is now officially cancelled—but things with Virginia and Erik have been a bit more public. When rumors of divorce first started to abound, Virginia hopped on TikTok and since, there have been a slew of videos about her “ex.” In the first TikTok, Virginia says, “There is truly no better way to get over the hump of missing your ex than attempting to go have lunch with them, ending with you getting out of the car in the middle of the street to walk and then get an Uber home simply because you expressed that they do have privilege and would make it further in life for acknowledging their privilege.” She added, “They proceed to tell you that you’ve done and are doing absolutely nothing with your life, um, generally that you’re a piece of sh-t, that everything that happened to you as a child you have to get on and move on from because you’re letting it hold you back. As if you’re not in therapy, actively working on yourself while they are doing nothing but continuing to be the God-complex-filled narcissist that they are so, if anyone else needs today’s life lesson, even if you’re missing your ex, don’t hang out with them.” As documented on the show, Virginia and Erik had radically different political views. While it sometimes caused a rife between the otherwise adorable couple, their political differences were really only touched upon—at least as far as what the show documented. Now, it seems like politics is what ended their relationship. Of Ryan and Clara’s equally as shocking divorce, Clara has said, “After an interesting turn of events, it looks like I will be relating to Taylor Swift‘s rerecording of the Red album after all.” She then responded on TikTok to a fan, “If you know anyone who wants a couple hundred dollars worth of New Year’s Eve party decorations, send them my way.” Another staggering, unexpected break-up? Fan-favorite couple Bennett and Amelia from Season 11, filmed in New Orleans. You may remember that upon meeting each other while walking down the aisle, both Bennett and Amelia realized that they had met once or twice before through mutual friends. However, as of July 26 of this year, Reality TV World reports that they’ve split and are in talks to file for divorce. An anonymous source, who claims to be a friend of Bennett alleged, “BenMelia is no more. In his words ‘she unexpectedly and inexplicably dumped me.’”
