The Lemme founder and her kids dedicate their time each holiday season to helping provide shelter and security to those in need, and she’s sharing a sweet look at the results on Instagram. “It has become a Christmas tradition for me and my kids to join one of my favorite organizations @asenseofhomeorg in creating a home for a foster youth who has aged out of the foster system,” she began the lengthy caption detailing their yearly tradition. As Kardashian explained, A Sense of Home is a charitable organization that helps teenagers who have aged out of the foster care system find and fill a home. To date, they’ve housed over 800 people with over 182,000 donated items. Kardashian continued, writing, “We start with a full truck and an empty house and put our love and energy into unloading furniture, bedding, mattresses, towels, kitchen utensils and so much more and putting it all together and in place. We also brought a Christmas tree, gifts, and stockings to spread a little Christmas cheer!” Kardashian called it “a pleasure and an honor” to help organize and decorate the new space for Taquisha and her young daughters. “Taquisha overcame homelessness to secure a roof over her daughters’ heads, and next year she’s starting her journey towards achieving her dream of becoming a real estate agent!” Kardashian further explained. “She’s such an inspiration, and I pray that all of her dreams come true and that she felt so much love and support during our day together. I pray that her new home is filled with peace and love.” The first photo in the carousel, posted on Dec. 23, showed the family surrounded by the group of volunteers in their new living room. Several other photos showed off the new space, including the master bedroom and the girls’ room, and two videos showed one of the little girls sitting in her bed for the first time, as well as Taquisha entering through the front door for the first time to the group of volunteers’ cheers welcoming her home. “This hits home 🏡 4 me. I was homeless last year in a motel 🏨 worked my butt off w help of my landlord to get me into housing a week b4 Christmas. I stayed there until July of this year & got the call 4 a safer better environment to get me & my autistic 4 yr old out of the hood it was so dangerous. I love ❤️ this 4 you & how you have made this your Christmas 🎄 tradition, the true meaning of Christmas. It’s a beautiful thing ❤️💚🏡🫶🏻❣️,” one comment read. “What a wonderful gift. Way to pay it forward. Happy Holidays to you Kort an all of your family💕🎄🎅,” wrote another follower. While some criticized the reality star for bringing attention to her good deeds, as many others pointed out, she’s introduced many of us to a new organization worth supporting that we otherwise may have never heard about. There are several ways to support A Sense of Home if you’re interested in getting involved, including starting a fundraising campaign to sponsor a home creation, purchasing/donating items on their wishlist (for example, there’s a high need for crib mattresses right now), volunteering at the warehouse to organize donations and build furniture, and more.
