Jackman is currently starring as traveling salesman Harold Hill in Broadway’s revival of The Music Man, which also stars Sutton Foster as Marian Paroo. But it’s another costar who’s forged a new friendship with Jackman, and that’s Kennedy Pitney, a little girl who recently made her Broadway debut in The Music Man as Gracie Shinn. In the video uploaded to Jackman’s Instagram, the actor appears to be in his dressing room, opening an envelope Pitney gives him. Inside, he finds a friendship bracelet the young performer made for him, matching the one she wears on her wrist. Jackman asks Pitney, who he refers to as “KK,” “Is this like, because we’re BFFs?” Pitney confidently answers, “Yes!,” leading Jackman to pull the little girl in for a hug. Jackman posted the adorable video on his social media along with the caption, “It’s official, I have [a] new bff. The friendship bracelet @kennedy_pitney made me makes it so. Thank you KK. You are an amazingly talented young lady with a very bright future!” Pitney reposted the video on her own Instagram page, which is managed by her mother, Kim Forsyth Pitney. Her caption state, “‘It’s the friends we make along the way that help us appreciate the journey.’ Forever thankful for this journey and the amazing people I have the pleasure of meeting and working with everyday." The post continues, “3 months ago I was finishing 2nd grade and in the middle of dance competition season, and now I am in New York and get to be friends with people I admire most!!! Thank you @thehughjackman for being a bestie and someone I can look up to, not just in my career, but in life!!” Jackman, who shares two children with wife Deborra-Lee Furness — Oscar Maximilian Jackman, 22, and Ava Eliot Jackman, 17 – is known to be very kind and caring to young fans, such as recently, when he surprised a 9-year-old fan with cystic fibrosis with a surprise meeting at a radio show (via PopSugar).
