Beyoncé earned nine nominations, the most for 2023, and is now tied with her own husband, Jay-Z, for the most Grammy nominations ever with 88 nods in between them. In 2021, Queen Bey broke the record for most Grammy wins ever, clocking in at 28 and counting. Kendrick Lamar comes close behind Bey with eight nominations, followed by Brandi Carlile and Adele, who each have seven. Harry Styles, Mary J. Blige, The-Dream, Future, DJ Khaled and Randy Merrill each got six nods. Taylor Swift was also nominated for her All Too Well short film, as well as for “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing, “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” and “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)” from her album Red (Taylor’s Version). Five new Grammy categories were introduced for 2023, including Best Alternative Music Performance, Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical), Best Spoken Word Poetry Album, Best Americana Performance and Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media. “Celebrating the miracle of music is at the core of everything we do at the Recording Academy and today we are proud and honored to celebrate music’s power to lift people up and to bring them together. I’m energized by this year’s slate of nominees and how each of them uses their craft to inspire us and to remind us that music is our universal language,” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement. “Each of these deserving nominees has helped to provide the world with an incredible soundtrack and is a true testament to how vibrant our entire music community truly is.” See the full list of nominees below, as well as details on how to watch the Grammys in 2023!
