A Minnesota couple is speaking out after an anonymous letter was mailed to their home in Burnsville to criticize their holiday decoration display on the exterior of their house—and let’s just say, the nasty note is enough to land the sender on the naughty list this year. “Your yard decorations (if you call it that) are very much an eyesore for the neighborhood,” the mean-spirited letter read, per NBC Chicago. “Please stop or at least tame it down.” Adam Duncan decorates the pair’s townhome every year to spread holiday cheer, and he’s even won a Burnsville yard decorating contest. He told Fox 32 Chicago, “It’s something I can do to brighten people’s lives and spirit.” “I’m a pretty quiet person, and this is my only way to shine,” he also added.  His wife, Brandi Joy told the outlet that her husband was “just crushed” after receiving the letter. “He was teary eyed. He’s like, ‘What do I do? Do I take it down?’” she recalled. Joy decided to share the letter online in multiple Facebook groups, where she called the sender a “Grinch,” and ended up receiving an outpouring of love and support from people all over. “I’ve had people reach out from Australia, England, all over the United States, all over Minnesota, asking if they can send us Christmas cards, if they can donate anything, telling me their stories of how Christmas really helped,” Joy stated. Duncan also has his own reasons for spreading joy during the holidays, telling the publication that it has to do with his sobriety journey. “We all have our story. My story is recovery. This person might have their story,” he said.  Duncan and Joy even tried to understand that their grouchy neighbor might have their own reason for not feeling so spirited this Christmas.  “We understand that not everybody enjoys the holiday season,” Joy acknowledged. “Maybe you have a loved one that you lost during this time, and it’s really hard. Maybe it’s your first holiday season without them.” To help the continued spread of compassion and cheer, Duncan and Joy are asking all of those offering to send the couple decorations or money to instead donate to their favorite charities or do something nice for their neighbors this holiday season.  More News: • Cold Stone Creamery Welcomes New ‘Winter Wonderful’ Holiday Flavors • David Beckham Sings Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want’ While Enjoying a Morning Coffee • Everything You Need To Know About William and Kate’s Boston Visit
