On July 8, Marvel’s newest superhero flick, Thor: Love and Thunder, was released. Directer by Taika Waititi, it also stars Natalie Portman as her Thor and Thor: The Dark World character Jane Foster, as she takes on the mantle of the Mighty Thor and fights alongside her ex-love. But would the story have turned out this way if Liam Hemsworth was the one wielding Stormbreaker? Speaking with MensXP ahead of the movie’s release, the publication asked the star of Thor: Love and Thunder what actor he might like to play a variation of his character as part of the ever-expanding multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “My little brother almost got cast as Thor. He was one of the first people who got right down to the wire on getting the part so I don’t know, I could cross paths with him. That will be fun,” he responded. Based on the 38-year-old’s comments, it’s certainly a possibility that Liam could appear as some version of Thor in a Marvel movie, so fans of the young actor should keep their fingers crossed. Although he lost out on the part of Thor to Chris, the youngest Hemsworth found his own franchise playing Gale Hawthorne in the four The Hunger Games movies released between 2012 and 2015. His success continued as he most recently starred in Most Dangerous Game, a short-format modern adaptation of the classic short story by Richard Connell. The brothers’ other sibling, Luke Hemsworth, who is also an actor and the oldest of the three, actually already played a version of the God of Thunder (sort of), appearing in Thor: Ragnarok as an actor who portrays Thor in a play. His IMDb page states that he reprised the role in Thor: Love and Thunder, but it remains uncredited. Next, Thor: Love and Thunder Mid-Credits Scene Reveals Ted Lasso Star’s MCU Role
